Emily Ann Carr
Emily Ann Carr earned a B.F.A. degree in Art from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1999, cum laude and J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas in 2003. Prior to moving to Georgia, Emily was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in November 2003. Emily served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Smith County District Attorney’s office in Tyler, Texas for two years. She prosecuted misdemeanor crimes such as assault, driving while intoxicated and drug charges. In 2005, she went into private practice where she practiced in the areas of family law, criminal defense, real estate, business and litigation. Emily handled divorces, child custody, child support, adoptions, and Child Protective Services cases. Additionally, she defended clients in both felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2007 and 2008, Emily prosecuted for the City of Tyler, Texas in Municipal Court. Emily has extensive trial and courtroom experience. Emily has been practicing law in Georgia since 2009, and maintains her current family law and criminal law practice with The Carr Law Group covering all of Northeast Georgia with offices in both Clarkesville and Cleveland, Georgia. Emily has extensive practice handling divorces, child custody and child support issues. Emily has also represented a number of clients that are facing criminal charges. Emily is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice law in all Georgia State Courts. Emily’s community involvement includes being a member of the Rotary Club of White County and she is active with the White County Chamber of Commerce.
