It is with great sorrow that we announce the recent passing of our colleague, James “Jim” H. Cox (1950-2022). Jim was very special to all of us and was such a great person, friend, mentor, and attorney to have in our office. He truly devoted his life to the legal profession and will be greatly missed.

Jim graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law and became a member of the Georgia Bar in 1975. He spent most of his legal career practicing in the Atlanta area and worked for some of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the country. In 2013, he joined The Carr Law Group as “of counsel.” During his career, Jim served as president of the Young Lawyers Division, on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, and on the Judicial Nominating Commission. Jim was voted a “Super Lawyer” for over a decade, and his fellow lawyers gave him Martindale-Hubbell’s “Distinguished” rating.
